The annual Expo Manger Santé et Vivre Vert flourishes once more this Spring, hosting and promoting all aspects of vegetarianism, organic and ecological lifestyles. The Expo raises a much-needed consciousness about the best ways to go about being good to our planet and bodies, through engaging, innovative and educational content accessible to all ages and awareness levels.
Expo Manger Santé et Vivre Vert, running since 1997, has seen the world become friendlier to its values, which are enthusiastically shared by Druide®, partner for the last 6 years: a holistic approach to wellbeing and consumership. This year, EMSVV comes ripe with a new edition in Sherbrooke, to complement the Montreal and Quebec happenings. They continues to gravitate towards healthier eating, zero-waste philosophy, plant-based diets, ecological practices and awareness of our ingredients as well as their making and packaging. This event promises to bring out the best out of traditional and new eco-solutions, from demonstrating new techniques and innovations to hosting educational forums featuring “a multitude of amazing gastronomic and ecological solutions to green-up our diet and eating habits as well as improve our health and lifestyle”
What to expect?
350 exhibitors, 150 conferences and a flurry of activities to partake in, all tucked into three essential sections: Health Food, Ecology and Global Health. We will hear about the promotion of new strategies for a healthier lifestyle, education about our food choices and eating habits, the presentation of recent ecological innovations in cooking and environmentally friendly packaging.
Some very exciting activities are to take place, including the Montreal vegan cuisine championship cookoffs, where plant-based recipes and creativity come together. Another key contest will be the artisan baking championship, recompensing the talents of professional bakers who invest in organic local products to hone their craft. And of course, plenty of tasting samples and culinary demos! From innovative vegan foodstuffs to the latest in fermented, raw and probiotics and environmentally friendly packaging, this year’s menu sounds promising.

Must see conferences
From renowned specialists to culinary demonstrations, this year will feature the usual impressive spread of experts sharing research, findings and opinions. Druide® Vice-President Eric Arminjon will show you and hand out an easy to use tool on how to recognize safe cosmetics that contain only certified organic ingredients (Friday and Saturday in Montreal, both days in Quebec and Sherbrooke). Other notable talks and demos include a stroll through edible flowers with Nathalie Beaudoin (Nathalie en Herbe) in Montreal, a dive into organic algae of Gaspesie with president and professional diver Antoine Nicolas (Ocean des Saveurs) at all conferences, a breather regarding the art of Chi according to the Stévanovitch method in Sherbrooke, and an overview on the use of Socca, a delicious chickpea flour recipe popular in Italy and the South of France (Caroline Dumas) in Montreal.
